Schedule of Events:
Friday 9/5 – Fun Range Open for Qualification Noon – 6:00PM
Friday 9/5 – Critter Shoot @ Dark followed by campfire, music & smores!
Saturday 9/6 – Fun Range Open to the public 8:00AM-2:00PM

Saturday – Big Buck$ Classic Competition Range
Shooter Registration: 8:00AM – 1:00PM; Cards in by 4:00PM; Money Presentation at approx. 4:30PM
We request participants stay for the award presentations.
Eligibility: Must be a WVBA member and qualify by shooting at any shoot on the WVBA schedule in 2025
No minimum score required. Shooting at the WV IBO Triple Crown shoots will also qualify for the Classic.
Shoot Cost: $20.00
Shooting Classes:
Men’s Open – 3D max 45 yards (red stake)
Women’s Open – 3D max 45 (red stake)
Men’s Bowhunter – 3D max 35 yards (white stake)
Women’s Bowhunter – 3D max 35 yards (white stake)
Traditional (selfbow, longbow, recurve) – 3D max 30 yards (blue stake)
Youth (ages 13-17) – 3D max 30 yards (blue stake)
Cub (12 and under shoot free) – 3D max 20 yards (orange stake)
Three round spot targets 60cm targets will be shot by each participant at known distances.
Three arrows at each target, 9 arrows total with a possible 90 points total on spot targets.
Total spot target score will be added to total 3-D score.
Open & Bowhunter classes: 20, 30, 40 yards (1 round each distance)
Traditional: 20 yard (1 round) 30 yards (2 rounds) – new for 2025!
Youth class: 20 yard (1 round) 30 yards (2 rounds) – new for 2025!
Cub Class: 20 yard (3 rounds)
Equipment Restrictions:
No Crossbows permitted, vertical bows only with no draw locking devices
Men & Women Open Class – No restrictions: Any type adjustable sight with or without lens, any length stabilizer, any style peep (clarifier).
Men & Women Bowhunter class – Stabilizers (front/back/side) may not be longer than 12″ measured from the riser; fixed or moveable pin; with or without lens in sight.
A verifier or clarifier style peep is allowed in Bowhunter class.
Traditional – (selfbow, longbow, recurve) no sights; a single stabilizer not longer than 12″; no mechanical release aids
Payout and Awards: New Payouts out to 6th Place!
All Men & Women Classes including Youth:
1st – $300; 2nd – $200; 3rd – $150; 4th – $100; 5th $50 and 6th – $25
Cub class – 1st place plaque and $50 Gift Card; All cubs will be given a medal for shooting
Rules & Regulations (as of 6/13/23; subject to revision)
1. Must be a WVBA Member or part of a family membership (can join for $30 at the event)
2. May only shoot in one class
3. Range finders will be permitted
4. Any power binocular may be used before shooting; once shot has been made no glassing from the shooting stake
5. Must touch the shooting stake with a portion of his/her body
6. Front kill zones only are to be scored
7. Scoring will be 11, 10, 8, 5 and 0 (any part of the foam target is a 5)
8. Targets will be scored before any arrows are touched; any arrow pulled before scoring is a 0
9. Arrow shaft must be touching the line of the higher scoring ring to get the higher score
10. Robin hood arrows will be scored same as the arrow imbedded in target
11. Arrow must be stuck in the target or in embedded arrow to be scored
12. Any questionable scores must be agreed upon by the group; if field judge is required his/her decision is final
13. Groups will be limited to 4 persons; groups may be assigned at registration
14. There will be two score keepers assigned at registration
15. Shooters are responsible for verifying their score at each target and final score
16. No changes to score card will be permitted once signed by shooter and score keeper and turned in
17. Ties will be broken by the number of 11’s
18. If a tie remains; there will be a one target shoot off with high score winning
19. If a tie still remains; the final round will be closest to the center of the 11 ring
20. If needed, the WVBA President has final ruling on any conflicts or issues
