Welcome to the WVBA Awards Banquet Page!  The event is held at the Days Inn Conference Center 350 Days Drive, Flatwoods, WV 26601.  The main event is April 11, 2026 and starts in the lobby area at 3:15PM. Doors to the main banquet room open at 4:00PM

Members, look for your banquet reservation forms in the mail.  Anyone can download the reservation form and attend. Seating is limited to approximately 300, so do not delay in making your reservation.  Table assignments will be made to the best of our ability and will not be changed. Any last-minute reservations will be seated as seats are available. Thank you for your understanding.

Indoor Shoot Rules

West Virginia Bowhunters Awards Banquet

Friday Night Indoor 3D Shoot (Mid-State Archers Indoor Range)
Signup between 6:00pm – 7:00pm; start shooting at 7:00pm (if arrive late we will accommodate).
Entry Fee: $20 for adults; $10 youth classes (no free shoots at this event)

Classes:

  • Traditional: Selfbow, Longbow or Recurve.  Shoot off of shelf or rest.  No sights or release aids, single stabilizer not longer than 12″
  • Bowhunter: Compound bows only.  Stabilizers (front/back) must not be longer than 12”, fixed or movable sights, no lens in sight; verifier or clarifier in peep is allowed.  Recurves with sights shoot in this class.
  • Youth: 13-17; no restrictions
  • Cub: 12 & under; no restrictions

*Individuals can shoot in more than one class

Format:

  • Rinehart 3D Targets: 10 (3 rounds)
  • Range: approx. 25 yards
  • Arrows: 1 arrow per target
  • No range finders

Scoring:

  • IBO scoring rings will be used (11, 10, 8, 5, 0)  Ties broken by the number of 11’s or if tie remains number of 10’s, etc.
  • The Rules and Scoring will be as specified by the WVBA in this document.
  • Awards will be for first place in each class and presented at the banquet.

In a few short weeks, we will celebrate our 46th annual awards banquet.  Join us for amazing seminars, shoot a round or two on the 3D range (indoor and outdoor) and bid on that hunt you’ve had your eye on at the live auction.  We hope to see you there!

The West Virginia Bowhunters Association welcomes Curt Wells, Host of Bowhunter TV as our guest speaker for the 46th Anniversary Awards Banquet.

In a bowhunting career spanning 44 years, across 30 states, 11 Canadian provinces/territories and 11 countries, Curt has pursued 34 species of big game exclusively with a bow and arrow, 30 of them successfully.

Curt sold his first magazine article to Bowhunter Magazine in 1985. He became a regular contributor in 1995 and was named Equipment Editor in 2003. In 2004, Curt began hunting on camera for Bowhunter TV and was named host of the show in 2009. That same year, Curt authored his first book, The Modern Bowhunter – Geared Up!, and served as Editor of the Pope and Young Club’s Bowhunting Records of North American Whitetail Deer, Third Edition. In 2010, Curt was named Editor of Bowhunter Magazine, a position he held for 13 years. Curt’s title is now Editor-At-Large, and he remains Host of Bowhunter TV. He is a life member of RMEF, a regular member of the Pope and Young Club, and a life member of the North Dakota Bowhunter’s Association.
